Google Drive

Google Drive is a cloud storage service where you can store files like Google Sheets, Excel spreadsheets (.xlsx, .xlsm), and CSV files. With Coupler.io, you can pull data from these files in Google Drive directly into your destination—no need to manually download and re-upload.

Why connect Google Drive to Coupler.io?

  • Replace IMPORTRANGE limitations — Use Coupler.io as a more reliable alternative to Google Sheets' IMPORTRANGE function for pulling data between spreadsheets.

  • Consolidate multiple files — Import data from multiple Google Sheets, Excel files, or CSVs in one data flow, then use transformations like Append or Join to combine them.

  • Automate data updates — Schedule regular refreshes so your destination file always has the latest data without manual copying.

  • Support for multiple formats — Pull data from Google Sheets, .xlsx, .xlsm, and .csv files all from the same source.

Prerequisites

  • A Google account with access to the files you want to import

  • Files stored in Google Drive (Google Sheets, Excel, or CSV format)

  • A destination in Coupler.io (Google Sheets, Excel, BigQuery, Looker Studio, or AI destinations like Claude or ChatGPT)

Quick start

1

Connect your Google account. Click "Connect source" and select Google Drive. You'll be taken through Google's sign-in flow. Approve access to your Google Drive files.

2

Select your file. Paste the spreadsheet URL or ID of the file you want to import. You can also use the file picker to search for it by name. If you're importing from a specific sheet or tab within a spreadsheet, copy the URL of that sheet (the URL will include the sheet ID in the fragment).

3

Choose sheet(s) and range (optional). If your file has multiple sheets, enter the sheet titles you want to import—one per line. You can also specify a cell range (like A1:Z100) to import only part of the sheet. Leave these blank to import the entire first sheet.

4

Select your destination. Pick where you want the data to go: Google Sheets, Excel, BigQuery, Looker Studio, or an AI destination like Claude or ChatGPT.

5

Run the data flow. Click "Run" to test the import. Once it completes successfully, your data is ready in the destination.
