FAQ
Do you support Google My Business as well as Google Business Profile?
Coupler.io connects to Google Business Profile, which is the current standard. Google My Business was deprecated in favor of Business Profile. If you're still using an older My Business account, we recommend migrating to Business Profile in Google's help center first.
How many locations can I connect in a single data flow?
You can connect 50–100+ locations in one flow, but performance depends on the report type. Daily metrics and search keywords scale well to 100+ locations. Reviews are data-heavy; for 100+ locations with many reviews, consider splitting into multiple flows to avoid timeouts.
Does one data connection equal one location or one Google Business Profile account?
One data connection is one GBP account connected to one destination, regardless of how many locations you include. For example, if you have one GBP account with 50 locations connected to Google Sheets, that counts as one data connection. If you connect the same GBP account to both Google Sheets and Looker Studio, that's two data connections.
Can I filter or limit the number of reviews returned?
Reviews list pulls all reviews for the selected locations during the connection period. Coupler.io does not offer a built-in limit or filter by rating in the GBP source itself. However, after pulling to your destination, you can use transformations (filter, sort, or aggregate) to limit results or focus on specific ratings. You can also use Looker Studio's native filters if that's your destination.
Do you include paid actions or only organic actions?
Coupler.io pulls organic actions only. This includes calls, website clicks, direction requests, messages, and bookings initiated through your organic Google Business Profile listing. Paid ads (Google Ads, local service ads) are not included in GBP metrics.
What's the difference between "Business actions (total)" and the individual action metrics?
Business actions (total) is the sum of all action types: phone calls, website clicks, directions, messages, and bookings. Individual metrics (phone, website, directions, etc.) break this down by type. Use the total for overall engagement, and individual metrics to see which action type drives the most interaction.
Can I join GBP daily metrics with search keywords to see which keywords drive the most actions?
Yes! Use the Join transformation. Match on location name and date, then combine daily metrics with search keywords. This lets you see action counts for each keyword.
My Reviews list data flow times out. How do I fix it?
See the Common Issues page for detailed solutions, including splitting large location sets across multiple flows.
Reviews queries are data-heavy. If you have 100+ locations, create separate flows for each region or subset (e.g., locations 1–50 in one flow, 51–100 in another).
Why does my data in Coupler.io not match the numbers I see in Google Business Profile?
Small differences (1–5%) are normal due to processing delays. GBP finalizes metrics after ~2 AM PT, so if you compare data pulled before that time, it won't match. Always wait until after 2 AM PT to run data flows for the most accurate data. Also confirm you're comparing the same date range and metric type.
What if I only have one GBP account with many locations—do I need multiple data flows?
No. A single data flow can include all locations from one GBP account. However, if you encounter timeout errors or rate limits, splitting into multiple flows (by location group or region) helps. You can then use Append to combine the results in your destination.
Can I use Coupler.io to respond to reviews or manage my GBP profile settings?
No. Coupler.io is a read-only data integration tool. It pulls data from GBP but does not modify profiles, respond to reviews, or change settings. You must manage reviews and profile updates directly in Google Business Profile.
Do you support locations.getVoiceOfMerchantState or other GBP verification endpoints?
Currently, Coupler.io supports Daily metrics, Search keywords, and Reviews list. Advanced endpoints like getVoiceOfMerchantState are not available. If you need this data, contact Coupler support to discuss custom integration options.
