# Common Issues

## Connection issues

<details>

<summary>My API key isn't being accepted</summary>

Double-check that you've copied the full API key from Reddit Ads — partial keys or keys with extra spaces will fail authentication. Make sure the key is generated from the **Reddit Ads** developer settings specifically, not from your general Reddit account. If the key was recently regenerated, the old one will no longer work — re-enter the new key in your Coupler.io data flow settings.

</details>

<details>

<summary>The data flow connects but returns no data</summary>

Check that the ad account IDs you entered in the **Ad accounts** parameter are correct and that your API key has access to those accounts. If you're unsure of your account ID, log into Reddit Ads and find it in the account URL or account settings page.

</details>

## Missing data

<details>

<summary>My Campaign performance (daily) report is missing days</summary>

Verify that your start and end dates are set correctly using the date pickers — make sure the start date comes before the end date. Keep in mind that Reddit Ads reporting can lag by up to 24 hours, so data for the most recent day may be incomplete or not yet available.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Some ad accounts are missing from the results</summary>

If you manage multiple ad accounts, each one must be explicitly listed in the **Ad accounts** field. The integration does not automatically discover all accounts tied to your credentials — you need to specify each account ID you want to include.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Campaigns or ads I expected to see aren't in the export</summary>

The Campaigns, Ad groups, and Ads entities return current-state data. Deleted or archived items may not appear depending on the API's visibility rules. If you need historical records, use the **Campaign performance (daily)** entity with a date range that covers the period the campaign was active.

</details>

## Permission errors

<details>

<summary>I'm getting a "permission denied" or "unauthorized" error</summary>

Your API key may not have sufficient permissions for the ad accounts you're trying to access. In Reddit Ads, confirm that the user account that generated the API key has at least **read** access to the relevant ad accounts. If your key was created under a sub-user or restricted role, it may not be able to pull all entities.

</details>

## Data discrepancies

<details>

<summary>Numbers in Coupler.io don't match what I see in Reddit Ads</summary>

Small discrepancies are often caused by the 24-hour reporting lag in Reddit Ads — data for recent days can be revised after initial processing. If you're comparing a date range that includes the last 1-2 days, wait for those days to finalize and run the data flow again. For older date ranges, check that the date pickers in Coupler.io exactly match the range you're reviewing in the Reddit Ads interface.

</details>

## Rate limits

<details>

<summary>The data flow fails or times out with a large date range</summary>

Reddit Ads API has rate limits that can cause issues when pulling long date ranges in a single request. Try splitting your date range into shorter intervals — for example, pull one month at a time instead of a full year. You can use multiple sources within a single Coupler.io data flow with an Append transformation to combine them into one output.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.coupler.io/sources/category/ppc/reddit-ads/common-issues.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
